Papers: MISC 18: Mitnick - Shimomura
 Miscellaneous papers I've written Hi,
Long time no written anything here, but now CyberSpace7 is back !! Just renewed the registration and put up a new DNS system.
Now let's talk about something more interesting: I've just published a new article in the famous french paper magazine MISC (Multi-System & Security Cookbook) talking about the Mitnick - Shimomura attack of X-Mas 94. It will be online soon, so wait a bit, and/or if you can, get a hand on this month's MISC !!
MISC 18 (Mars/Avril 2005): Le cas Mitnick Shimomura - ou comment le cybercriminel a souhaitť Joyeux NoŽl au samurai
See ya.

Papers: Linux Sound Systems & APIs
Miscellaneous papers I've written I've been recently hired by the OSTG (sourceforge, slashdot, linux.com, freshmeat, newsforge, devchannel, thinkgeek, etc) to write articles and here's my first one !!
It's a double article published the 9th of August on linux.com: An Introduction to Linux Sound Systems & APIs" and "Using portable, multi-OS sound systems".
I was really very surprised of the success I got from this article: started with a long argument by mail with 4Fronts Tech. president Dev Mazumdar (!!) that finally apologized for his attack against me. It was then threaded on slashdot, OSNews (where ALSA's dev in chief Jaroslav Kysela gave his opinion), included in Linux Audio Blog documentation, and referenced on Mad Penguin, LXer [1 and 2], Linux Today, Hack in the Box, Librenix, Stargeek, etc. Google shows 260 exact match results for the first article ^^. The second part had less success. The article has been bot-translated to japanese by excite and is under translation to russian for opennet.ru and rsdn.ru by Vladislav Lazarenko.
You can find the original version of the article on C7.net.
See ya later for some good news I hope =)

 CyberSpace: Anime/Manga Module Up
Web Site Related stuff Hi fellows,
The CyberSpace7.net team (that means.... me for the moment) is proud to announce that the Anime/Manga Review Module is running. Anybody having any interest in japanese animation & comics is invited to post reviews/comments about related stuff. Non-Admin will have to wait for their review to be approved by a crew member, but unless you talkshit, should be ok.
I'm now working on the image gallery in which reviewers will be be able to post screenshots/wallpapers abou the series.
For more information, ask any of the admins (who will be briefed soon ;D) Btw, for the moment admins are : Sgt Sagara (god :-P), his lovely lumiyu, and the 2 bros BigBrother and Packiller.
For any question/troubleshooting, send me a message.

Have Fun and feel free to play with the anime module.

Progz: Opening script updated for Firefox 0.9+
Programs & Scripts Had to modify firefox_open cuz of a change of architecture in Firefox' 0.9 remote commands handling. This is not done anymore by the ff binary but is centralized for mozilla, firefox, thunderbird in mozilla-xremote-client, so the old script won't work and the new script won't be backward compatible.....

Ok, if I was a bit less lazy, I'm sure there must be a quick hack to handle both cases by parsing `firefox --version` with sed for example.... but I don't think it's worth the work

Enjoy it :D

 Progz: Mozilla/Firefox URL opening script
Programs & Scripts

Just added a little script to open URLs given as argument in a smart way, that means in a new tab if a mozilla | firefox session is running, or launching it and opening the page if it isn't. Very useful with programs that have to open web links using mozilla (in my case gaim, but works also for lopster, xchat, etc).

This script is written for firefox, but to use it with mozilla, just change the $BROWSER variable to "mozilla".
